Tanzwut sind wieder da. Sie waren auch noch nie weg. Ganz im Gegenteil, seid ihr letztes Album, Achtung! Mensch, 2024 erschien sind die Mittelalter Rock rund um Frontmann, Teufel, gefühlt nur noch Unterwegs. Wo man auch immer mittelalterliches zu sehen und zu hören bekam, da waren und sind Tanzwut nicht weit. Nicht nur mit ihrer Rock-Show, sondern auch klassisch mittelalterlich, und hier gar mit eigenem Puppentheater ist die Band stets auf Reisen, um ihre Kunst und Kunde unter das willige Volk zu bringen. Jetzt ist es wieder Zeit für neue Lieder und neue musikalische Abenteuer. Auch wenn man im Groben weiß, was einen bei Tanzwut erwartet, und dies ist immer Musik mit Tiefgang und verdammt viel Spaß, sind Tanzwut seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1997, immer für eine Überraschung gut. Das ändert sich auch nicht mit dem nun endlich erhältlichen neuen Studiowerk, Herz aus Stein. Insgesamt dreizehn neue Nummern servieren die Herren und legen auf CD sogar noch einen Bonus-Track obendrauf. Musikalisch orientiert man sich an altbewehrten und doch, wo wir ja bei Überraschungen sind, bringt auch das neue Werk neue Klänge mit sich. „Wir habens übertrieben“, ist hier nur einer der nit urtypischen Songs. Mittelalter trifft auf Wild, Wild West. Und das funktioniert nicht nur, sondern treibt auch glatt die Tanzwut ins Blut, was dazu führt das hier keiner mehr stillsitzen wird. Oder das fetzige, „No Future“, welches schon beinah Hard and Heavy Anleihen besitzt. Das Rockt mal richtig. Ja, ja, der Teufel rockt die Bude. „Kein Abschied für immer“ ist ein weiterer Rocker, der für einen geliebten Menschen der Band, der den einen Weg bereits angetreten hat, steht, ist eine der härtesten Nummern. R.I.P.!
Das für mich allerdings emotionalste Stück ist die Singleauskopplung, „Die Sänger singen noch“, welches man mit so vielen lieben Kollegen eingesungen hat und zu dem es ein wahnsinns Video gibt. Besonders der aktuelle Hintergrund des Songs geht unter die Haut. Wer kann schon sagen, wie lange es noch Handgemachte Musik geben wird. Die Zeit und auch die Technik bleiben niemals stehn. Deshalb genießt es, solange es noch geht, auch wenn es hier und da mal im Beutel schmerzt, handgemacht ist es immer wieder wert.
Ansonsten kann man abschließend nur sagen, Tanzwut treffen erneut den Ton und liegen voll im Trend der Zeit. Mit dem neuen Album kommt Musik zum Feiern. Zum Tanzen. Zum Weinen. Aber auch zum Nachdenken, denn viel zu viele von uns leiden mittlerweile an einem Herz aus Stein.

Tanzwut are back—though, in truth, they never really went away. Quite the opposite: since the release of their album *Achtung! Mensch* in 2024, the medieval rock band led by frontman Teufel has been constantly on the road. Wherever there was something medieval to see or hear, Tanzwut was never far behind. The band travels constantly—not just with their rock show but also with a traditional medieval performance (complete with their own puppet theater)—to bring their art and message to the eager masses. Now, the time has come for new songs and fresh musical adventures. While fans generally know what to expect from Tanzwut—music with depth and a hell of a lot of fun—the band has always been full of surprises since forming in 1997. That holds true for their newly released studio album, *Herz aus Stein*. The band serves up thirteen new tracks in total, adding a bonus track to the CD version for good measure. Musically, they stick to their tried-and-tested formula, yet—speaking of surprises—this new work introduces fresh sounds as well. "Wir habens übertrieben" is one such track that breaks the mold: it’s a case of the Middle Ages meeting the Wild West. It works brilliantly, instantly getting the "Tanzwut" (dance frenzy) into your blood and making it impossible to sit still. Then there’s the high-energy "No Future," which borrows heavily from hard rock and heavy metal; it really rocks out. Teufel certainly knows how to bring the house down. "Kein Abschied für immer"—a tribute to a loved one of the band who has already embarked on that final journey—is another rocker and stands out as one of the album's heaviest tracks. R.I.P.! For me, however, the most emotional track is the single "Die Sänger singen noch" ("The Singers Are Still Singing"); it features vocals from so many dear colleagues and comes with an incredible music video. The song’s current context, in particular, really gets under your skin. After all, who can say how much longer handmade music will exist? Time and technology never stand still. So enjoy it while you can—even if it pinches the wallet a bit here and there, handmade music is always worth it.
In closing, one can simply say that Tanzwut have once again struck the right chord and are perfectly in tune with the times. Their new album delivers music for celebrating, for dancing, and for crying—but also for reflection, given that far too many of us are now suffering from a heart of stone.
