Pünktlich zum 20-jährigen Bandjubiläum in 2024 melden sich Stoneman nach über 6 Jahren Musikpause mit einem neuen Studioalbum lautstark zurück – „NEU!“ heißt das gute Stück und wir verraten was euch dabei erwartet: Das Album beginnt mit einem geflüsterten „Sascha hat ein Lied geschrieben, glaubt es wäre schön“. Unerwartet ruhig scheint ein Liebeslied zu beginnen, schnell setzen rockige Riffs und Industrial Sounds ein. Doch im Opener Song „Heimatdiebe“ geht es nicht nur um die besungene Liebe zum schönen Mädchen, das „dieselben Lieder singt und dieselbe Sprache spricht“, sondern offenkundig um die sehr weit rechts befindliche Liebe zur eigenen Heimat und das dringende Bedürfnis „Heimatdiebe“ zu vertreiben.
In „Korrekt“ werden dem Hörer unverblümte Wahrheiten entgegengeschlagen – das findet Frontmann Mikki Chixx offenbar „nicht nett, aber auch eben korrekt“. Ähnlich vulgär geht es mit „Helene“ weiter: „Ich komme hart, wenn ich dich nehme, Helene.“ Anstößige Texte ist der
geübte Stoneman Hörer bereits von älteren Hits wie „Goldmarie“ oder „Wer ficken will“ gewohnt. Es überrascht also nicht, dass auch auf „Neu!“ solche… lyrischen Ergüsse… zu finden sind
Rhythmisch stampfen im Anschluss das „Ferrari Pferd“ – die erste Auskopplung des Albums vor Release – der „Wahnsinn“, sowie das düstere und rotzige „Halloween“ daher und gehen sowohl ins Ohr als auch ins Bein. Erneut obszön wird es bei „Sex“ und auch „Keine Zeit“ – der anfänglich an Rammsteins „Keine Lust“ erinnert – reiht sich in den eindeutig zweideutigen Stil Stonemans ein, den man auch immer mit etwas Humor nehmen muss.
„Lasst die Puppen tanzen, so dass sie jeder sieht“ fordert Mikki im „Puppentanz“ sowohl „Heinrich, Eva, Magdalena“, als auch die Hörer auf. Titeltrack „Neu!“ befasst sich inhaltlich mit dem in unserer schnelllebigen Welt weit verbreiteten Konsum – „es muss nur neu sein, teuer sein“. Abgeschlossen und abgerundet wird „NEU!“ von „Heute Nacht“.
Stoneman sind schräg, provozieren gewollt und polarisieren seit je her. Und so auch mit „NEU!“ – Gesellschaftskritische und typisch vulgäre (teils bewusst geschmacklose) Texte, gepaart mit ganz viel Sarkasmus und einem absolut tanzbaren Dark Rock Mix mit Industrial Einwirkungen – ob dies gefällt? Just in time for the band's 20th anniversary in 2024, Stoneman are back with a new studio album after a break of over 6 years - “NEU!” is the name of the album and we reveal what you can expect: The album begins with a whispered “Sascha has written a song, thinks it would be nice”. A love song seems to begin unexpectedly calmly, rock riffs and industrial sounds quickly set in. But the opening song “Heimatdiebe” is not just about the love sung about for the beautiful girl who “sings the same songs and speaks the same language”, but obviously about the love for one's own homeland, which is very far to the right, and the urgent need to drive away “homeland thieves”.
In “Korrekt”, the listener is confronted with blunt truths - frontman Mikki Chixx obviously finds this “not nice, but also correct”. “Helene” continues in a similarly vulgar vein: ”I come hard when I take you, Helene.” Offensive lyrics are the
experienced Stoneman listener is already used to offensive lyrics from older hits such as “Goldmarie” or “Wer ficken will”. So it's no surprise that such... lyrical outpourings... can also be found on “Neu!”
Rhythmically, “Ferrari Pferd” - the first single from the album before its release - “Wahnsinn” and the dark and snotty “Halloween” stomp along and are as catchy as they are leg-stomping. “Sex” is once again obscene and ‘Keine Zeit’ - which is initially reminiscent of Rammstein's ‘Keine Lust’ - also fits in with Stoneman's clearly ambiguous style, which must always be taken with a little humor.
“Let the dolls dance so that everyone can see them”, Mikki urges both ‘Heinrich, Eva, Magdalena’ and the listener in ‘Puppentanz’. The title track “Neu!” deals with the widespread consumption in our fast-paced world - “it just has to be new, it has to be expensive”. NEU!” is concluded and rounded off by ‘Heute Nacht’.
Stoneman are quirky, deliberately provocative and have always been polarizing. And so it is with “NEU!” - socially critical and typically vulgar (sometimes deliberately tasteless) lyrics, paired with a lot of sarcasm and an absolutely danceable dark rock mix with industrial influences - do you like it?
