Die 2013 in Belgien gegründete Symphonic Metal Formation Cathudodua veröffentlichte am Freitag ihr nun zweite Studioalbum, nach dem man in den Anfängen 2016 mit der EP, Opus 1 : Dawn, und dann 2018 mit der Single, The Journe of Lysilde, gestartet war und mit dem folgenden Album, Continuum, aus dem Jahr 2019, bereits für mächtig viel Aufsehen in der Szene gesorgt hatte, folgt nun also mit, Interbellum, der erwartete Nachfolger. Cathudodua holen weit aus und servieren das wohl bisher anspruchsvollste Werk ihr ja doch noch ziemlich jungen Karriere. Dazu dreht man noch einmal mächtig auf und steigert sowohl die Spannung als auch die Spielfreude alle Beteiligten um ein vielfaches und geht einen großen Schritt weiter vorwärts in Richtung bombastischen Symphonic Metal, ohne dabei die Stärken der Vorgänger, wie zu Beispiel die Instrumente wie Geigen zu vernachlässigen. Der Gesang von Sara Vanderheyden verzaubert dabei genauso wie das Spiel aller Bandkollegen an ihren jeweiligen Instrumenten.
Das Album erzählt die Geschichte von der Erschaffung und Zerstörung einer Kriegsgöttin; von großen
Hoffnungen, Macht und Träumen bis hin zu verlorener Liebe und dem Umgang mit einer ewig brennenden
Schuld.
Diese intensiven Emotionen werden auf eine grandiose und intensive Art und Weise musikalisch
wiedergegeben, indem CATHUBODUA dieses Mal mehr Ideen und Einflüsse aus härteren Metal-Genres in
ihre Songs einfließen ließen. (Zitat der Kollegen des Labels, dem so nichts hinzuzufügen ist).
Somit werden Cathubodua wohl ihren Weg in der Szene festigen und Fans des symphonischen Metals kommen voll auf ihre Kosten.
Von uns erhält Interbellum jedenfalls die volle Punktzahl und darf sich bereits jetzt zu einem der Highlights im Jahr 2024 zählen. Weiter so.

These intense emotions become musical in a grandiose and intense way
reproduced, this time CATHUBODUA incorporates more ideas and influences from harder metal genres

So Cathubodua will probably consolidate their way in the scene and fans of symphonic metal will get their money's worth.
In any case, Interbellum gets full points from us and can already be considered one of the highlights in 2024. Keep it up.
