Als sich Clémentine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis), Anna Brunner (League of Distortion), Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite) und Amanda Somerville zu EXIT EDEN zusammenschlossen, und im Sommer 2017 das Debutalbum Rhapsodies in Black veröffentlicht haben, war sofort klar, dass diese Kombination voller Kraft und Magie zugleich sein würde! EXIT EDEN beweisen eindrucksvoll, wie symphonische Härte und Popmusik Hand in Hand gehen können und kleiden bekannte Klassiker in ein so noch nie dagewesenes Soundgewand, das mehr als nur ein Coveralbum zum Leben erweckt hat.
So lautete die Beschreibung einer 2017 gegründeten Symphonic Metal Formation, die gleich mit ihrem Debüt für riesen Aufregung in der Szene sorgte. Heute, sechs Jahre später kommen die Damen von Exit Eden, als Trio zurück, um erneut zu beweisen was auch außerhalb ihrer Stammcombos in ihnen steckt. Diesmal versteift man sich allerdings nicht allein auf Cover Versionen, obwohl wie bereits erwähnt, das Debüt, welches ausschließlich aus Cover Versionen bestand, einschlug wie eine Bombe, wollen die Damen es mit Album Nummer zwei ganz genau wissen. So teilt man die zwölf auf, Femme Fatale, veröffentlichten Nummern, gerecht in der Mitte auf und veröffentlicht mit, „It's a Sin" (Pet Shop Boys), „Separate Ways" (Journey), „Desanchantée" (Mylène Farmer), „Poison" (Alice Cooper), „Alone" (Heart) und „Kayleigh" (Marilion), sechs Cover und mit, „Femme Fatale", „Buried in the Past" und „Hold Back Your Fear ,Run!“ , „Dying In My Dreams" und „Elysium", echte Symphonic Metal Granaten, die ihres Gleichen suchen. So wird das zweit Album von Exit Eden, welches wie erwähnt den Namen Femme Fatale trägt eine echte Herausforderung, sowohl in seiner Aufmachung, als auch in der gebotenen musikalischen Unterhaltung. Nimmt man zum Beispiel allein das gewählte Thema, Die Femme fatale [fam faˈtal] (frz. für „verhängnisvolle Frau“) ist eine besonders attraktive und verführerische Frauenfigur in Kunst und Literatur. Dieser Typus wird mitunter mit magischen oder dämonischen Zügen ausgestattet, die es ihr ermöglichen, Männer erotisch an sich zu binden und sie zu manipulieren. In religiösem Kontext kommt oft noch eine moralische Komponente hinzu, durch die leichtgläubige oder triebhafte Männer durch sie „schicksalhafte“ Läuterung erfahren, und legt hier die fantastische Umsetzung der Songs, sowohl der Cover als auch Eigenproduktionen, übereinander, so kommt man aus dem Staunen kaum heraus. Auch der Gastauftritt eines, Marko Hietala (ex-Nightwish), beim Song Run! Gibt hier zusätzlich Grund zur Freude. Unterstreicht er doch sehr eindrucksvoll durch sein eigenes Können, diesen schon für sich allein stehenden starken Song um ein weiteres. Man darf gespannt sein, ob es Exit Eden mit ihren Songs nun vielleicht auch Live auf die Bühnen schaffen. Dies wäre dann unserer Meinung nach ganz sicher ein Highlight des noch sehr jungen Jahres 2024!

When Clémentine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis), Anna Brunner (League of Distortion), Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite) and Amanda Somerville joined forces to form EXIT EDEN and released their debut album Rhapsodies in Black in the summer of 2017, it was immediately clear that this combination would be full of power and magic at the same time! EXIT EDEN impressively prove how symphonic heaviness and pop music can go hand in hand and dress well-known classics in an unprecedented sound that has brought more than just a cover album to life.
That was the description of a symphonic metal formation founded in 2017, which caused a huge stir in the scene with their debut. Today, six years later, the ladies from Exit Eden are coming back as a trio to once again prove what they are capable of even outside of their regular combos. This time, however, they're not just focusing on cover versions. Although, as already mentioned, the debut, which consisted exclusively of cover versions, was a hit, the ladies want to know exactly what it is with album number two. So you divide the twelve released numbers, Femme Fatale, evenly down the middle and release them with, "It's a Sin" (Pet Shop Boys), "Separate Ways" (Journey), "Desanchantée" (Mylène Farmer), " Poison" (Alice Cooper), "Alone" (Heart) and "Kayleigh" (Marilion), six covers and with, "Femme Fatale", "Buried in the Past" and "Hold Back Your Fear, Run!", "Dying In My Dreams" and "Elysium", real symphonic metal bombshells that are second to none. Exit Eden's second album, which as mentioned is called Femme Fatale, is a real challenge, both in its presentation and in the musical entertainment it offers. If you take the chosen theme alone, for example, the femme fatale [fam faˈtal] (French for “fateful woman”) is a particularly attractive and seductive female figure in art and literature. This type is sometimes endowed with magical or demonic traits that enable her to erotically bind men to her and manipulate them. In a religious context, a moral component is often added, through which gullible or instinctive men experience “fateful” purification. If you layer the fantastic implementation of the songs, both the covers and their own productions, on top of each other, you can hardly stop being amazed out of here. Also the guest appearance of one, Marko Hietala (ex-Nightwish), on the song Run! There’s additional reason to be happy here. He impressively underlines this strong song, which already stands on its own, with his own skills. It will be interesting to see whether Exit Eden will perhaps make it onto the stage live with their songs. In our opinion, this would definitely be a highlight of the still very young year 2024!
