Mit, The Far Star, begannen die portugiesischen Progressiv Metaller, Apotheus ihre musikalische Erzählung fern ab unseres Universums, welches ebenfalls als Buch, nach einer Vorlage des Science-Fiction-Autors Issac Asimov, entstand. Heute im Jahr 2023 folgt nun mit Ergo Atlas die Fortsetzung. Millionen Jahre nach, The Far Star, entwickelt eine künstliche Intelligenz, einen genauso perfiden wie genialen Plan, der das Leben im gesamten Universum gefährdet. Nach ihrem von Kritikern auf der Welt gefeierten ersten Teil der Geschichte, folgt nun also der zweite Teil und somit auch gleich das dritte Studioalbum der Band. Erneut entführt Apotheus nicht nur in ferne Welten, sondern entführt den gewillten Hörer auch in ihre emotional geladene musikalische Welt. Erneut zeigen sich die Herren verdammt experimentierfreudig, ohne dabei auch nur im Geringsten Langweilig zu klingen. Ganz im Gegenteil vermitteln die neun aktuellen Songs beim Hören, gar eine einzigartige Spannung, die bestens in das Thema des Albums passt. Musikalisch fantastisch eingespielte Melodien und ein sehr angenehmer Gesang entführen so über eine Spielzeit von gut fünfundvierzig Minuten durch eine Welt voller Fantasien und metallischer Klänge. So bekommt der gewillte Hörer ein verdammt starkes Rock-Album geboten, welches, so denken wir erneut viel Lob ernten wird. Es wäre sicherlich interessant diese Story einmal Live präsentiert zu bekommen. Dies dürfte ein verdammt entspannter Abend bei wirklich guter Musik werden.
With, The Far Star, the Portuguese progressive metal, Apotheus began their musical narrative away from our universe, which was also created as a book, according to a presentation of the science fiction author Issac Asimov. This is followed today in 2023 with Ergo Atlas. Millions of years after, The Far Star, develops an artificial intelligence, an as perfidious as well as ingenious plan that endangers life throughout the universe. After her first part of history, celebrated by critics in the world, the second part and thus also the band's third studio album follows. Again, Apotheus not only kidnaps worlds, but also takes the willing listener into her emotionally invited musical world. Once again, the gentlemen show themselves damn experimental, without sounding even boring. On the contrary, the nine current songs convey a unique tension that fits the album's theme. Musically fantastically well -rehearsed melodies and a very pleasant vocals kidnap through a world full of fantasies and metallic sounds over a playing time of forty -five minutes. So the willing listener is offered a damn strong rock album, which, as we think we will again harvest a lot of praise. It would certainly be interesting to get this story presented live. This should be a damn relaxed evening with really good music.
