Bei der Vielzahl an neuen Alben, die uns beinah täglich erreichen, fällt es oft nicht leicht zu entscheiden welches denn nun auch von uns beurteilt wird. Auch gibt es einiges wofür wir eben nicht das richtige Ohr haben und so fallen schon einmal Alben durch das Raster. Aber wir lassen uns auch sehr gern überraschen und überzeugen. So auch in diesem Fall. Es geht um eine Band, die ihren Ursprung in Israel hat. Nun kann man glaube ich sagen, das nicht sehr viel an musikalischen aus dem Land bekannt ist, jedenfalls uns persönlich nicht. Und ehrlich gesagt verbinden wir Israel nicht unbedingt mit hartem Metal, und schon gar nicht mit Death Metal. Aber was uns hier auf dem zweiten Album präsentiert wird ist schon ein Brett, welches eine Erwähnung mehr als verdient hat.
Structual wurde 2015 von den Gitarristen Shani Friedman und Tamir Vered sowie dem Sänger Nadav Zaidman gegründet. Nach mehreren Besetzungswechseln besteht die Band nun aus Shani Friedman und Tomer Dembinsky (Gitarren), Nadav Zaidman (Gesang), Koren Esco (Bass) und Vadim Sergyenko (Schlagzeug). Musikalisch trägt der Sound der Band Einflüsse von Bands wie Lamb of God, Nevermore und Arch Enemy sowie modernere Einflüsse wie Obscura und Periphery. Motiviert durch den Ehrgeiz, eine eigene, einzigartige Stimme zu kreieren, arbeitete Structural drei Jahre lang daran, die richtige Kombination aus heftigem Schlagzeugspiel, komplexen und ungewöhnlich getakteten modernen Riffs mit kommunikativen Melodien zu vereinen, angeführt von absolut rücksichtslosem Gesang.
Nach einer längeren Europatour präsentiert die Formation nun also ihr zweites Album, Decrowned. Nachdem bereits das Debüt, Metacognition, seiner Zeit überzeugen konnte und sofort zu einem Label-Deal für die Band führte, kommt mit dem zweiten Werk ein ebenso hartes, wie interessantes Album auf den Markt. Auch hier kann die Mischung vom ersten bis zum letzten Moment überzeugen. Harte Klänge treffen auf verdammt klug inszenierte Melodien, die durch einen bedrohlich wirkenden Gesang perfekt abgerundet werden. So erscheinen die elf Songs für das Genre eher sehr experimentierfreudig und interessant, was dazu führt, das das neue Werk zu keinem Zeitpunkt langweilig klingt. Man entdeckt beinah an jeder Ecke eine neue Herausforderung und so wird das Album zu einer sehr erfreulichen Fahrt quer durch das Death Metal Genre.
Von uns gibt es hier eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung für diese schon beinahe Kampfansage!
With the large number of new albums that reach us almost every day, it is often not easy to decide which one we will judge. There are also some things we just don't have the right ear for and so albums sometimes fall through the cracks. But we also like to be surprised and convinced. So also in this case. It's about a band that originated in Israel. Now I think you can say that not very much is known about music from the country, at least not to us personally. And to be honest, we don't necessarily associate Israel with heavy metal, let alone death metal. But what is presented to us here on the second album is already a board that more than deserves a mention. Structual was formed in 2015 by guitarists Shani Friedman and Tamir Vered and vocalist Nadav Zaidman. After several line-up changes, the band now consists of Shani Friedman and Tomer Dembinsky (guitars), Nadav Zaidman (vocals), Koren Esco (bass) and Vadim Sergyenko (drums). Musically, the band's sound carries influences from bands like Lamb of God, Nevermore and Arch Enemy as well as more modern influences like Obscura and Periphery. Motivated by the ambition to create their own unique voice, Structural worked for three years to find the right combination of heavy drumming, complex and unusually timed modern riffs with communicative melodies, led by absolutely ruthless vocals. After a long European tour, the formation now presents their second album, Decrowned. After the debut, Metacognition, was convincing for its time and immediately led to a label deal for the band, the second work is an album that is as hard as it is interesting. Here, too, the mixture is convincing from the first to the last moment. Hard sounds meet damn cleverly staged melodies, which are perfectly rounded off by threatening singing. So the eleven songs for the genre appear very experimental and interesting, which means that the new work never sounds boring. Discovering a new challenge around almost every corner makes the album a very enjoyable ride across the Death Metal genre. From us there is a very clear purchase recommendation for this almost declaration of war!
