Anno 2017 dachte sich der finnische Metaler, Tuomas Hirvonen (Hatred), es wäre an der Zeit neben der Hauptband noch mal eben schnell ein Soloprojekt zu starten. Dies hatte zwei Gründe, zum einen war er der Meinung, dass der nun gängige Powermetal mal einen gehörigen Tritt in den Allerwertesten benötigt um wieder in die ursprüngliche Richtung zu kommen und zweitens, er selbst auf Eurodance steht und dieses Genre im Powermetal völlig außer Acht gelassen wird. Ihr merkt schon, so ganz ernst sollte man Frozen Land, so der Name der Band nicht nehmen. Und dennoch, konnte bereits das Debüt im Jahre 2018 recht eindrucksvoll unter Beweis stellen, das es Frozen Land ernst meinen, wenn sie sagen, dass der Powermetal der 90er Jahre ein Reboot braucht. Dementsprechend klingen Frozen Land auch einfach mal nach gutem alten 90er Jahre Powermetal. Hier gibt es einfach voll auf die Zwölf. Immer gerade aus. Hier wird nicht experimentiert oder gar verschönert. Hier kommt Powermetal ohne Wenn und Aber. Dies setzt sich nun auch nach einer vier jährigen Schaffenspause der Band fort. Man musste sich aus seiner depressiven Verfassung befreien und dies ging laut Aussage der band am besten unter LSD. Wie bereits erwähnt, nehmt die Band, ihre Aussagen und auch Teile der Musik nicht wirklich ernst. Die Herren wollen einfach nur Spaß. Und den haben sie, dass hört man besonders auf dem neuen Album, welches den Namen, Out oft he Dark, trägt. Sieben Tracks im Gewand des klassischen Powermetals werden euch, dem Hörer förmlich um die Ohren gehauen. Aber Vorsicht, Tuomas Hirvonen, hat es tatsächlich getan. Er vermischte den Metal mit seiner eigenen schon fast „perversen“ Vorliebe für 90er Jahre Eurodance, was ihr auf den beiden letzten Songs des Albums zu hören und auch zu spüren bekommt. Aber noch einmal, nehmt diese Formation nicht zu ernst, die Band und ihre Mitglieder selbst tuen es im Übrigen selbst nicht. Und nun verdammt viel Spaß mit dem zweiten Werk von Frozen Land… kommt heraus aus eurer Dunkelheit und feiert dieses Album!!!
In 2017, the Finnish metal band, Tuomas Hirvonen (Hatred), thought it was time to start a solo project alongside the main band. There were two reasons for this, on the one hand he was of the opinion that the now common power metal needed a good kick in the buttocks to get back in the original direction and secondly, he himself is into Eurodance and completely ignored this genre in power metal becomes. As you can see, you shouldn't take Frozen Land, the band's name, that seriously. And yet, the debut in 2018 was able to prove quite impressively that Frozen Land mean business when they say that the Power Metal of the 90s needs a reboot. Accordingly, Frozen Land just sound like good old 90s Power Metal. Here there is simply full on the twelve. Always straight ahead. There is no experimentation or even embellishment here. Here comes Power Metal without ifs and buts. This continues now after a four-year creative break of the band. You had to get out of your depressive state and according to the band, this was best done with LSD. As already mentioned, the band doesn't really take their statements and parts of the music seriously. The gentlemen just want to have fun. And they have, you can hear that especially on the new album, which is called Out of the Dark. Seven tracks in the guise of classic power metal will literally smack you, the listener, in the face. But be careful, Tuomas Hirvonen actually did it. He mixed metal with his own almost "perverted" fondness for 90's Eurodance, which you can hear and feel on the last two songs of the album. But again, don't take this formation too seriously, the band and its members themselves, by the way, don't do it themselves. And now have damn fun with the second installment from Frozen Land... come out of your darkness and celebrate this album!!!
