Seit mehr als drei Jahrzehnten kreieren Evergrey Songs, die mit einer Symbiose aus Härte und Melancholie direkt ins Herz gehen und ziehen damit Fans weltweit in ihren Bann. Mit ihrem 14. Album Theories of Emptiness schreiben die Poeten aus Schweden um Bandgründer, Sänger und Gitarrist Tom S. Englund ihre Erfolgsgeschichte weiter und beweisen, warum sie zu Recht unangefochten an der Spitze des Genres stehen. So erhält der Fan und gewillte Hörer mit dem neuen Studio Album, nicht nur die seit Jahren bekannte und geliebte Professionalität der Band, sondern auch gleich elf fantastische neue Songs. Erneut beweisen Evergrey ihr Können im Umgang sowohl mit melodisch klingenden und dennoch vor Härte nur so strotzenden Songs. Weder vergisst man hierbei die Eingängigkeit der einzelnen Songs noch das beinah perfekte Gleichgewicht zwischen Melodie und Härte. Musikalisch und Instrumental, stellt Theories of Emptiness schon jetzt einen kleinen Höhepunkt im Schaffenswerk der Band da, da sich die Songs nahtlos an das bisher veröffentlichte Material anpasst, und doch wie nicht anders erwartet einen Schritt weiter auf der Erfolgsleiter geht. Herrlich das Zusammenspiel von Härte und verträumten Klängen, die einen für kurze Zeit vergessen machen in welch schweren Zeiten wir leben und dann plötzlich wieder in die Realität zurückrufen. For more than three decades, Evergrey have been creating songs that go straight to the heart with a symbiosis of heaviness and melancholy, captivating fans worldwide. With their 14th album Theories of Emptiness, the poets from Sweden led by band founder, singer and guitarist Tom S. Englund continue to write their success story and prove why they are rightly undisputed at the top of the genre. With the new studio album, the fan and willing listener not only receives the professionalism the band has known and loved for years, but also eleven fantastic new songs. Once again, Evergrey prove their ability in dealing with melodic-sounding songs that are nevertheless bursting with heaviness. Neither the catchiness of the individual songs nor the almost perfect balance between melody and heaviness is forgotten. Musically and instrumentally, Theories of Emptiness is already a small highlight in the band's oeuvre, as the songs fit in seamlessly with the previously released material and yet, as expected, go one step further on the ladder of success. The interplay of heaviness and dreamy sounds is wonderful, making you forget for a short time what difficult times we are living in and then suddenly calling you back to reality.
