Was soll man sagen? Jeder, der mich kennt, wird wissen, dass ich, seit Mitte 2022, ein absolut eingefleischter Dymytry Fan bin. Als das Album Revolt herauskam, war ich sehr begeistert. Dann durfte ich Dymytry in 2022/2023 mehrfach live erleben und auch kennenlernen. Ein sehr nettes Interview habe ich mit Alen Ljubic, dem Frontman von Dymytry geführt (zu sehen auf dem offiziellen “Streetteam Berlin” Channel).
Diese Band hat einfach alles, was man bei einer Rock-/Metalband sucht. Grandiose Melodien, nackenbrechende Rhythmen, epische Refrains und ein absolutes Spektakel für die Ohren.
Aber auch live kann sich so manch eine Band hier eine Scheibe abschneiden. Man bekommt post-apokalyptische Kostüme, eine spektakuläre Licht- und Pyro-Show und jede Menge Stimmung.
Bei Dymytry sieht man immer viele strahlende Gesichter von neuen als auch alten Fans.
Wir sind aber nicht hier, um über die Band selber zu sprechen, sondern sie bringen im Januar ihr zweites Album, in englischer Sprache, mit Sänger Alen “Al” Ljubic, raus und ich habe die große Ehre dieses jetzt schon für Euch zu rezensieren und Euch ganz scharf darauf zu machen.
Den Anfang macht der Song “Enemy List” und hier ist man schon innerhalb weniger Sekunden total im Bann dieser Band. Orchestral, fett und bombastisch geht es los, um dann in die sehr melodiöse Strophe zu gehen, die dann natürlich die perfekte Vorbereitung für einen Refrain ist, der nur zum Mitgröhlen verleitet.
Der zweite Titel ist dann “Everything is Black” eine -mitten in die Fresse-Nummer, die sowohl die Zuhörer zu Hause als auch die Zuschauer beim Konzert in ein Mosh-o-Rama versetzt. Spätestens bei der zweiten Nummer sitzt keiner mehr still zu Hause. Die Mähne wirbelt, die Pommesgabel geht nach oben und der Kopf wird einfach nur abgeschaltet. Hier gibt es 3,5 Minuten Party.
Nach den beiden bereits veröffentlichen Singles kommt nun “Wake me up (Before I die)”. Melodisch, aggressiv, mitreißend und grandios, so kann man diese Nummer am besten beschreiben. Vocals, die von clean in fast Growling gehen, hier zeigt Alen, was er am Mikro drauf hat. Mithörern wird hier auch ein “ohohoho” geboten, wo man selbst ein Teil der Band werden kann und mitsingen kann.
“Legends never die”, hier geht’s in eine fast Balladenartige Nummer, die ruhig aber dennoch kräftig anfängt. Der Refrain ist dann auch wieder sehr kraftvoll und hart.
“Legends never die, they become a part of you”. Das macht auch dieser Song. Gänsehaut pur!
Eine absolute Psy-Core Ballade vom Feinsten.
Nun kommen wir zu einem schönen Stampfer, der jedem Gitarristen Spaß machen wird, zu spielen. “Three steps to Hell”, ein eingängiges Intro, wummernder Bass, Drums und natürlich Gitarren “en mas”. Wer hier nicht Head bangt ist selber schuld. Persönlich einer meiner Favoriten des Albums. Es geht auch immer wieder in das Intro-Riff über, welches dem Song einen coolen Charakter verpasst. Hier hört man die “5 angry men” in voller Fahrt. Es wird ein Spektakel, diesen Song dann live erleben zu dürfen, sollte er gespielt werden. Freut Euch alle darauf!
“In death we trust”, auch hier fängt der Song sehr ruhig an, schon fast leichte Jazz Klänge, die man erkennen kann. Jedoch, dieser Song drückt so richtig aufs Gaspedal. Hier hat der gute Milos an den Drums ordentlich was zu tun. Die Double Bass knallt einem hier so richtig eine in Fresse. Cooler Refrain, der wieder zum Mitsingen animiert und ein sehr geiles Gitarrensolo machen diesen Song wirklich rund.
Psy-Core, Metal, Rock…. Jetzt haben wir “Dead Living Dead” und dieser Song hat es auch wieder in sich. Nicht hören, wenn man im Auto fährt, den er animiert, um den Fuß ganz nach unten zu drücken und Stoff zu geben. “Adrenaline’s addictive, come and feel it in your veins”, das ist auch das, was dieser Song macht, man will ihn immer und immer wieder hören.
Action ist das, was man hier möchte und das ist auch das, was man bekommt. Auch wieder ein Song, der live so wahnsinnig einheizen wird.
Nach dieser Kanone geht es weiter mit dem Titel “1939”, ein Song, der zum Nachdenken anregt. Hier kann man ein wenig den Vergleich zu “Chernobyl” von dem Vorgängeralbum “Revolt” machen. Jetzt nicht musikalisch, sondern eher inhaltlich. Da es auch hier um eine große Tragödie der Vergangenheit geht.
Musikalisch eine sehr stabile und tolle Nummer, mit clean Gitarren aber einem harten und stampfenden Pre-Chorus und ein sehr melodischer Refrain. Sehr schöner Song, sowohl musikalisch als auch inhaltlich. Toll gemacht!
“The Revenant”, für mich auch wieder ein Highlight der Scheibe. Der Song geht unter die Haut und ist sehr intensiv. Hier sind etwas weniger BPMs im Spiel, welches dem Song sein enormes Gewicht gibt und für Gänsehaut sorgt. Hier kann man sich live so richtig die Feuerfontänen vorstellen, wenn sie beim Refrain den Saal erhitzen.
Der letzte Song der Platte, “Five Angry Men” geht dann nochmal richtig zur Sache. Psy-Core vom Feinsten mit Einflüssen von Hip-Hop, Core, Metal. Eine sehr aggressive “in die Fresse” Nummer. Hier kann nochmal zum Ende des Albums hin, richtig eskaliert werden. Man merkt die 5 angry men und wie sie nochmal richtig auf den Putz hauen.
Fazit: Das Album “5 Angry Men” von Dymytry ist eine absolute Kaufempfehlung meinerseits. Wem der Vorgänger “Revolt” gefallen hat, wird hier auf seine vollen Kosten kommen. Ein sehr professionelles und solides Album, gefüllt mit harten Rhythmen, epochalen Refrains zum Mitsingen und sehr viel Variationen in Gesang. Alen zeigt hier wirklich, was er als Sänger drauf hat. Mit diesem Album katapultieren sich Dymytry ganz an die Spitze, wo sie auch hingehören.
Schon jetzt für mich eines der Top-Alben für 2024. Ich hoffe Dymytry in 2024 auch wieder live erleben zu dürfen.
Jeder, der sie noch nicht gehört hat, soll es unbedingt machen und die alten Fans oder “Dymytry-sten” (Name von mir ausgedacht) sollen auf jeden Fall dieses Album kaufen und dazu abfeiern. Live, über Kopfhörer oder laut auf der Stereoanlage, hier kann man nur strahlen. Ich kann nicht genug Gutes über dieses Meisterwerk sagen. Eine volle Granate!!!
What can you say? Anyone who knows me will know that I have been an absolutely die-hard Dymytry fan since mid-2022. When the album Revolt came out I was very excited. Then I was able to experience and get to know Dymytry live several times in 2022/2023. I did a very nice interview with Alen Ljubic, the frontman of Dymytry (seen on the official “Streetteam Berlin” channel).
This band simply has everything you look for in a rock/metal band. Grandiose melodies, neck-breaking rhythms, epic choruses and an absolute spectacle for the ears.
But many a band can also learn a lesson here live. You get post-apocalyptic costumes, a spectacular light and pyro show and lots of atmosphere.
At Dymytry you always see lots of smiling faces from new and old fans.
We're not here to talk about the band themselves, but they're releasing their second album in English in January with singer Alen “Al” Ljubic and I have the great honor of reviewing it for you now To make you very keen.
It starts with the song “Enemy List” and within a few seconds you are completely under the spell of this band. It starts orchestral, fat and bombastic, and then goes into the very melodic verse, which is of course the perfect preparation for a chorus that just makes you want to bawl along.
The second track is “Everything is Black,” an in-your-face number that sends both listeners at home and those at the concert into a mosh-o-rama. By the second number at the latest, no one is sitting still at home anymore. The mane twirls, the french fry fork goes up and the head just switches off. There's a 3.5 minute party here.
After the two singles that have already been released, now comes “Wake me up (Before I die)”. Melodic, aggressive, rousing and grandiose is how this number can best be described. Vocals that go from clean to almost growling, here Alen shows what he can do on the mic. Listeners are also offered an “ohohoho” experience where they can become part of the band and sing along.
“Legends never die”, this is an almost ballad-like number that starts calmly but still powerfully. The chorus is again very powerful and hard.
“Legends never die, they become a part of you”. This song does that too. Pure goosebumps!
An absolute psy-core ballad at its finest.
Now we come to a beautiful stomper that any guitarist will enjoy playing. “Three steps to Hell”, a catchy intro, booming bass, drums and of course guitars “en mas”. If you don't worry about this, it's your own fault. Personally one of my favorites from the album. It also continues into the intro riff, which gives the song a cool character. Here you can hear the “5 angry men” in full swing. It will be a spectacle to be able to experience this song live if it is played. Everyone look forward to it!
“In death we trust”, here too the song starts very quietly, almost light jazz sounds that you can recognize. However, this song really puts the pedal to the metal. The good Milos has a lot to do here on the drums. The double bass really hits you in the face here. Cool chorus that encourages you to sing along and a very cool guitar solo make this song really well rounded.
Psy core, metal, rock... Now we have “Dead Living Dead” and this song has it all again. Don't hear it when you're driving in the car, which he encourages to push your foot all the way down and give material. “Adrenaline’s addictive, come and feel it in your veins”, that’s what this song does, you want to hear it over and over again.
Action is what you want here and that's what you get. Another song that will really heat you up live.
After this canon we continue with the title “1939”, a song that makes you think. Here you can make a little comparison to “Chernobyl” from the previous album “Revolt”. Now not musically, but more in terms of content. Because this is also about a great tragedy of the past.
Musically a very stable and great number, with clean guitars but a hard and pounding pre-chorus and a very melodic chorus. Very nice song, both musically and in terms of content. Well done!
“The Revenant”, another highlight of the record for me. The song gets under your skin and is very intense. There are slightly fewer BPMs at play here, which gives the song its enormous weight and gives you goosebumps. Here you can really imagine the fire fountains live when they heat up the hall during the chorus.
The last song on the record, “Five Angry Men” really gets down to business again. Psy-core at its finest with influences from hip-hop, core, metal. A very aggressive “in your face” number. This can really escalate again towards the end of the album. You notice the 5 angry men and how they really hit the spot again.
Conclusion: The album “5 Angry Men” by Dymytry is an absolute purchase recommendation from me. If you liked the predecessor “Revolt”, you will get your money’s worth here. A very professional and solid album, filled with hard rhythms, epoch-making choruses to sing along to and a lot of variation in vocals. Alen really shows what he can do as a singer here. With this album, Dymytry catapult themselves to the top, where they belong.
Already one of the top albums for 2024 for me. I hope to be able to experience Dymytry live again in 2024.
Anyone who hasn't heard it yet should definitely do it and the old fans or “Dymytry-sten” (name made up by me) should definitely buy this album and party to it. Live, via headphones or loud on the stereo system, here you can only shine. I can't say enough good things about this masterpiece. A full grenade!!!
