Kurze Frage zum Anfang dieser Beurteilung: „Wie steht ihr selbst, eigentlich zu Cover Musik, Bands oder gar Tribute’s ?“ Nun, wer mich kennt, der weiß zumindest, das ich mit Coverversionen, Best of und Live Versionen schon immer etwas im Klinsch liege. Was ich wiederum wirklich gutheiße, und wenn es dann auch noch gut inszeniert ist, sogar bewundere, sind Fans und Bands, die ihren großen Vorbildern Tribut zollen, indem sie selbige kopieren und dennoch ihren eigen Stempel verpassen und somit dem Ergebnis einen neuen Anstrich verpassen. Ich könnte an dieser Stelle gleich mehrere Tribut Formationen nennen, die sich in meinem Ranking eine gute Note erspielt haben. Remode, haben sich wie die meisten dieser Formationen irgendwann zusammen gefunden um Just for Fun ihren „Helden“ einmalig Live Tribute zu zollen. Manchmal kommt das Tribute dann aber so gut an, dass aus dem Einmaligen mehr wird. So auch hier. Mittlerweile gelten Remode als angesagteste deutsche Depeche Mode Tribute Band und feiern allerorts Erfolge. Nun geht man noch einen Schritt weiter und veröffentlicht mit, A Broken Frame, doch tatsächlich ein Tribute Album, nicht nur an Depeche Mode selbst, sondern gar an das Album der Band, aus dem Jahr 1982. Nun kann man sich fragen, ob so eine Album den überhaupt Sinn macht, ist es doch Schlussendlich „nur“ ein Cover Album. Nun wie bereits erwähnt, drücken Remode, der Musik und dem Style des Originals, durch ihre eigen Art zu spielen, ihren persönlichen Stempel auf. So verwandeln sie das Original noch einmal in ein einzigartiges Werk, zollen ihren Vorbildern Tribute und geben ihren Fans die Möglichkeit sich ihre Kunst nun auch in den eigenen vier Wänden zu Gemüht ziehen zu können. Somit kann man nur sagen, alles richtig gemacht. Gratulation zum gelungenen Werk.
Short question at the beginning of this review: “How do you actually feel about cover music, bands or even tributes?” Well, anyone who knows me at least knows that I've always been a bit on the fence about cover versions, best of and live versions . What I really approve of, and even admire when it's well staged, are fans and bands who pay tribute to their great role models by copying them and still putting their own stamp on it and thus giving the result a new coat of paint. At this point I could name several tribute formations that earned good marks in my ranking. Remode, like most of these formations, got together at some point to pay Just for Fun a unique live tribute to their “heroes”. Sometimes the tribute is so well received that the one-off becomes more. Same here. Remode are now considered the hottest German Depeche Mode tribute band and are enjoying success everywhere. Now they're going one step further and releasing A Broken Frame, actually a tribute album, not just to Depeche Mode itself, but even to the band's album from 1982. Now you can ask yourself whether such a thing Album that makes any sense at all, in the end it is “just” a cover album. Now as already mentioned, Remode puts their personal stamp on the music and style of the original through their own way of playing. In this way, they transform the original into a unique work, pay tribute to their role models and give their fans the opportunity to enjoy their art in their own four walls. So you can only say that everything was done right. Congratulations on the successful work.
