Die Geschichte von Michael Voss liest sich beinah wie ein Märchen aus 1000 und einer Musik-Biografie… Der Mann könnte mit seinem Erlebten locker eine mehrteilige Buchserie veröffentlichen. Wikipedia schreibt zu ihm und seiner Person,
Michael Voss stieß 1983 als Ersatz für den kurz zuvor ausgestiegenen Andreas Baesler. Erstmals zu hören ist er auf dem Album Rollin' Thunder. Er bleibt bis zur Auflösung der Band 1989 ihr Sänger[2] und beteiligt sich auch an der Reunion 2005.[3] Nach dem Jubiläumsalbum Stormchild Rising 2020 stieg er bei Mad Max aus.[4] Ende der 1980er Jahre war er Tourgitarrist bei Bonfire. Anschließend wurde er Sänger bei der Supergroup Casanova.[5][6]
Voss sang auch auf zahlreichen weiteren Alben, unter anderem für Beggar’s Bride, Demon Drive und Wolfpakk (mit Mark Sweeney von Crystal Ball). Seit Ende der 1990er Jahre ist er außerdem als Musikproduzent tätig, insbesondere bei zahlreichen Projekten von Michael Schenker.[7] Er ist außerdem der Sänger der Kindermetalband Heavysaurus.
Nun, wenn dies kein Aushängeschild ist, was dann?
Es ist aber auch so, dass ich kein echter Freund von Cover Versionen oder gar ganzen Alben bin und mich bei der Beurteilung selbiger immer etwas schwer tue. Beim mir aber jetzt vorliegenden, ging ich völlig anders an die Sache heran. Schließlich ist es Michael Voss, der hier Lieder covert und so zu einem Album zusammenfasst. Voss selbst sagt von sich, das er Fan der Rock Legende, Status Quo sei, fast genau von dem Augenblick an, als er selbige im Jahr 1979, auf ihrer damaligen, If you can’t stand the Head-Tour, live erleben durfte. Hier tat es besonders, Rick Parfitt, mit seinen Riffs und Solis, sowie dem unverkennbaren Rhythmus, der Status Quo ausmacht unserem „Helden“ an. Fortan war Voss Fan der Band und Fan von Rick Parfitt. Dies führt nun dazu, das Michael Voss dieser Tage ein Tribute Album veröffentlicht, welches dem Schaffen genau dieses Rick Parfitt‘s gewidmet ist. Mir Rockers Rollin‘, erscheint somit ein Cover Album, der Extraklasse. Sind die zehn enthaltenen Songs an sich bereits wahre Garanten für den feinsten Rock, so schustert Michael Voss noch sein eigenes Können dazu und so entsteht ein unvergleichbares Werk. Wer hier ruhig sitzen bleibt sollte seinen Herzschlag untersuchen, denn es könnte sein das der stillsteht.
Michel Voss ehrt mit diesem Album nun endlich sein großes Idol, welches uns leider bereits am 24.12.2016 verließ. Mit diesem Album erweckt Mr. Voss erneut den Glanz der Großen, Status Quo und natürlich dem unvergessenen Rick Parfitt.
Endlich ein Cover Tribute, bei dem selbst ich ohne Schwierigkeiten zehn von möglichen zehn Punkten vergeben kann.

Michael Voss joined in 1983 as a replacement for Andreas Baesler, who had recently left. He can be heard for the first time on the album Rollin' Thunder. He remained their singer until the band broke up in 1989[2] and also took part in the reunion in 2005.[3] After the anniversary album Stormchild Rising 2020, he left Mad Max.[4] At the end of the 1980s he was the touring guitarist for Bonfire. He then became a singer with the supergroup Casanova.[5][6]
Voss also sang on numerous other albums, including Beggar's Bride, Demon Drive and Wolfpakk (with Mark Sweeney of Crystal Ball). He has also been working as a music producer since the late 1990s, particularly on numerous projects by Michael Schenker.[7] He is also the singer of the children's metal band Heavysaurus.
Well, if this isn't a poster child, what is?
But it's also the case that I'm not a real fan of cover versions or even entire albums and I always have a bit of a hard time judging them. But with the one I have now, I approached the matter completely differently. After all, it is Michael Voss who covers songs here and puts them together into an album. Voss himself says that he has been a fan of the rock legend, Status Quo, almost from the moment he was able to see them live in 1979 on their If You Can't Stand the Head tour. Rick Parfitt did it particularly well here, with his riffs and solos, as well as the unmistakable rhythm, which makes Status Quo our “hero”. From then on, Voss was a fan of the band and a fan of Rick Parfitt. This is now leading to Michael Voss releasing a tribute album these days, which is dedicated to the work of this very Rick Parfitt. With Rockers Rollin', a cover album in a class of its own is released. If the ten songs included are already true guarantees for the finest rock, Michael Voss adds his own skills and the result is an incomparable work. Anyone who sits quietly here should check their heartbeat, because it could be that it is standing still.
With this album, Michel Voss finally honors his great idol, who unfortunately left us on December 24th, 2016. With this album, Mr. Voss once again brings back the shine of the greats, Status Quo and of course the unforgettable Rick Parfitt.
Finally a cover tribute that even I can give ten out of a possible ten points without any difficulty.
