Und weiter geht die wilde Fahrt. Mir scheint es als ob sich im Moment die deutschen Hard Rock und Powermetal Bands, zumindest, was das Veröffentlichen von Alben betrifft, förmlich die Klinke in die Hand geben. Erste in der letzten Woche erschien hier eine echte Granate des Genres. In dieser Woche nun kommt gleich das nächste heiße Eisen, von einer der wohl erfolgreichsten Powermetal Bands, seit Gründung 1997 in Deutschland.
Primal Fear wurde im Oktober 1997 von Sänger Ralf Scheepers (Ex-Gamma-Ray) und von Sänger und Bassist Mat Sinner (Sinner) gegründet. Nach einem gemeinsamen Auftritt mit der Judas-Priest-Coverband Just Priest, bei dem Mat Sinner und Tom Naumann aushalfen, entstand die Idee, Primal Fear zu gründen. Bereits mit dem ersten Demo erhielt die Band einen Plattenvertrag bei JVC/Victor Japan. Das am 2. Februar 1998 erschienene selbstbetitelte Debütalbum stieg auf Platz 48 der deutschen Albumcharts ein. Im selben Jahr ging Primal Fear gemeinsam mit Running Wild und Hammerfall auf Tour.
Das Primal Fear auch nach bald schon dreißig Jahren im Geschäft und trotz einiger Mitgliederwechsel, bis heute ihren Biss nicht verloren haben, das stellen sie nun sehr eindrucksvoll mit ihrem gerade erschienenen vierzehnten Album, Code Red, unter Beweis. Harte treibende Powermetal Riffs und der, unverwechselbarer Gesang eines Ralf Scheepers, der seiner Zeit nicht ohne Grund für einige Fans genau der Richtige und damals wohl einig richtige Ersatz für Rob Halford bei Judas Priest gewesen wäre. Zum Glück für Judas Priest und in gewisser Hinsicht auch für Scheepers kam der Meister des British Steel aber wieder zurück zu seiner Hauptformation. Das neue Album bringt es gleich auf elf brandneue Halsbrecherische Songs und findet in der bereits im Vorfeld veröffentlichten Nummer, Another Hero, einen mächtig starken Opener. So geht von Anfang an der Rhythmus sofort ins Blut über und treibt den Hörer zu waren Spitzenleistungen im Headbangen und Luftgitarre-spielen an. Besser kann man das Genre schon fast nicht mehr verkörpern. Scheepers, Sinner und ihre Bandkollegen stellen erneut unter Beweis, das sie ihre Spitzenposition, die sie seit Jahren halten, mehr als verdient haben. Wo Songs wie , Raged by Pain, beinah schon Halsbrecherisch sind, beweisen Primal Fear mit, Forever und There Gods have failed dann aber auch ihr Händchen für echte Powerballaden. Somit beinhaltet das neue Studioalbum alles, was der Fan der Band und des Genres sich wünscht und erhält von uns für diese Leistung ganz klare zehn von zehn möglichen Punkten.
And the wild journey continues. It seems to me that the German hard rock and power metal bands, at least as far as the publication of albums are concerned, are literally putting their hand in hand. First in the last week, a real grenade of the genre appeared here. This week the next hot iron, one of the most successful Powermetal bands, has been coming in Germany in 1997. Primal Fear was founded in October 1997 by singer Ralf Scheepers (ex-gamma-ray) and by singer and bassist Mat Sinner (Sinner). After a joint appearance with the Judas Priest cover just priests, in which Mat Sinner and Tom Naumann helped, the idea of founding Primal Fear arose. With the first demo, the band received a record contract with JVC/Victor Japan. The self -titled debut album, published on February 2, 1998, ranked 48th on the German album charts. In the same year, Primal Fear went on tour with running wild and hammerfall. The Primal Fear, even after almost thirty years in the business and despite a few members of the member, have not lost their bite to this day, they are now proving that very impressively with their fourteenth album, Code Red. Hard driving power metal riffs and the unmistakable singing of a Ralf Scheepers, who would not have been the right replacement for Rob Halford at Judas Priest for some fans. Fortunately for Judas Priest and in a way, for Scheepers, the master of British Steel came back to his main formation. The new album brings it to eleven brand new breakneck songs and finds a powerful opener in the number published in advance, Another Hero. From the beginning, the rhythm immediately turns into the blood and drives the listener to be top performance in headbanging and air guitar games. It is almost better to embody the genre. Scheepers, Sinner and their bandmates once again demonstrate that they have earned their top position that they have been holding for years. Where songs like, Raged by Pain, are almost breakneck, Primal Fear proves, Forever and there Gods have failed then also show their hands for real power ballads. Thus, the new studio album includes everything the band and the genre fan wants and receives very clear ten out of ten possible points for this performance.
