Seit der Mann 1987 beschloss seine damals sehr erfolgreiche Formation, Accept, als Sänger und Frontmann zu verlassen und von nun an als Solo Projekt seinen Weg zu gehen sind viele Jahre ins Land gegangen. Mit bis Dato, 25 Studio Alben und unzähligen Single-Auskopplungen sowie Nebenprojekten und Gastauftritten, zählt, Udo Dirkschneider wohl unbestritten zu einem der größten Hard Rock und Heavy Metal Exporten aus good old Germany. Wenn nicht gar als der größte. Noch 2021 hieß es Game Over und die Band U.D.O. veröffentlichte ihr bis dahin, wie bereits erwähnt, 25. Studioalbum. Nun haben wir 2023 und der „Tank“ wie er auch liebevoll genannt wird, steht bereits mit seinem Nachfolger, Touchdown, in den Regalen der Nation und Weltweit. Dreizehn Nigel-Nagel neue Kracher, die dem Hörer erneut das „Fürchten“ lehren werden, präsentiert uns Udo nebst Band Kollegen unter dem Banner U.D.O. Und was soll ich sagen, bereits der Opener Isolation Man, hat mich in den Bürostuhl gedrückt und mich dort für die gesamte Spieldauer des Albums gefesselt. U.D.O. geben erneut alles. Geben ihr Bestes. Was das bedeutet, wissen nicht nur eingefleischte Fans. Harte Riffs. Songs die mal halsbrecherisch schnell, mal gefühlvoll aber stets mit der genügenden Härte jedem um die Ohren gehauen werden, der es gern hören möchte. Fight for your Right zum Beispiel ist einer der Songs, der schon allein mit seinem Namen sagt wo die Reise hingeht. Ganz klar nach vorn und ja, kämpft für eure Rechte ihr Metal Maniacs. Gerade in diesem Song beweist die Band auch ihre absolut unbestrittene instrumentale Größe und das man sich bestens in der Musik auskennt. Das Gitarrensolo mit seiner „Klassik“ Einlage ist mal sowas von Hammer und erinnert daran, dass es eigentlich schon immer Herr Dirkschneider war der „klassische“ Einflüsse mit in die Songs von Accept und U.D.O. mit einbaute. Kenner der Szene sollten sofort die Anspielung verstehen. Fazit zu Touchdown, eigentlich geht es schon beinah nicht mehr besser. Klarer, klassischer Hard & Heavy Sound wie aus dem Lehrbuch mit der Handschrift eines Udo Dirkschneiders und seinen Kollegen. Einfach großartig, einfach Heavy Metal. Was will/wünscht man sich mehr? Wer dieses Album nicht liebt und feiert, ist verkehrt in dieser Szene. Metal-Power ab und die Nacken trainiert… 11 von möglichen 10 Punkten und der Befahl zum Kauf für dieses Wahnsinns Album an dieser Stelle von uns…

With 25 studio albums to date and countless single releases as well as side projects and guest appearances, Udo Dirkschneider is undoubtedly one of the biggest hard rock and heavy metal exports from good old Germany. If not the biggest. In 2021 it was Game Over and the band U.D.O. released her 25th studio album up to that point, as already mentioned. It's now 2023 and the "tank" as it is affectionately known is already on the shelves of the nation and worldwide with its successor, Touchdown. Udo and his bandmates present thirteen new hits by Nigel-Nagel, which will again teach the listener to “fear”, under the banner U.D.O. And what can I say, already the opener Isolation Man pushed me into the office chair and tied me there for the entire playing time of the album. U.D.O. give everything again do their best. Not only die-hard fans know what that means. hard riffs Songs that are sometimes breakneck fast, sometimes soulful but always with enough heaviness that will hit anyone who wants to hear it. Fight for your right, for example, is one of the songs that says where the journey is going with its name alone. Clearly forward and yes, fight for your rights you metal maniacs. Especially in this song, the band also proves their absolutely undisputed instrumental greatness and that they know their way around the music very well. The guitar solo with its "classic" insert is something of a hammer and reminds you that it was actually always Mr. Dirkschneider who had the "classic" influences in the songs of Accept and U.D.O. with built. Those familiar with the scene should immediately understand the allusion. Conclusion on touchdown, actually it almost doesn't get any better. Clear, classic hard & heavy sound like something out of a textbook with the handwriting of Udo Dirkschneider and his colleagues. Just great, just Heavy Metal. What more do you want/wish for? If you don't love and celebrate this album, you're in the wrong place in this scene. Metal power off and your neck trained... 11 out of a possible 10 points and the order to buy this amazing album at this point from us...
