Bereits das Intro erinnert stellenweise an das Thema zur Pirates oft he Caribian Saga. Doch was dann nach einer minimalen Unterbrechung losbricht, ist der Hammer. Powermetal ist das eine. Doch was die 2008 in Süddeutschland gegründete Formation, Winterstorm, dann startet, ist noch etwas völlig anderes. Hat man sich auf dem Weg der Bandgeschichte stets verbessert und immer wieder versucht einen obendrauf zu setzen, was auch tatsächlich über bisher vier veröffentlichte Alben gut gelungen ist, so kommt mit, Everfrost, ohne Frage das wohl bisher stärkste Werk auf den Markt. Abermals vereint Winterstorm den klassischen Powermetal mit Folk, Viking und orchestralen Klängen. So entstanden zehn brandneue Songs, die das Herz eines jeden Fans der passenden Genres höher schlagen lassen wird. Kraftvoll, treibend und melodiös kommen die neuen Songs daher und wirken im Ganzen beinah wie ein musikalisches Unwetter, welches mit aller Macht versucht den gewillten Hörer aus den eigenen Schuhen zu hauen. Rein Thematisch bewegt sich das Album in einer Geschichte die davon handelt, was mit einer Zivilisation passiert, die sich systematisch selbst abschafft. Kommt einem bekannt vor? Na dann sollte der Mensch wohl besser aufpassen und aufhorchen wenn Winterstorm mit dem neuen Material auf Tour gehen. Für mich schon jetzt eines der stärksten Alben des laufenden Jahres 2023 spreche ich hiermit eine 100 Prozentige Kaufempfehlung aus und wünsche maximales Hörvergnügen.
Already the intro is reminiscent of the theme of the Pirates of the Caribian Saga. But what then breaks out after a minimal interruption is awesome. Power metal is one thing. But what the formation Winterstorm, founded in southern Germany in 2008, then starts is something completely different. They've always improved along the way of the band's history and tried again and again to top it off, which has actually worked well over the four albums released so far, but Everfrost is undoubtedly the strongest work on the market so far. Once again, Winterstorm combines classic power metal with folk, Viking and orchestral sounds. This resulted in ten brand new songs that will make the heart of every fan of the appropriate genre beat faster. The new songs are powerful, driving and melodic and as a whole almost seem like a musical storm that tries with all its might to knock the willing listener out of their own shoes. Purely thematically, the album moves in a story about what happens to a civilization that is systematically abolishing itself. Sounds familiar? Well then, people should probably pay attention and pay attention when Winterstorm go on tour with the new material. For me it is already one of the strongest albums of the current year 2023, I hereby give a 100 percent purchase recommendation and wish you maximum listening pleasure.
