Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Rotten Mind from Sweden combines elements of '77 punk, post-punk, dark wave and garage rock to create their own brand of melodic and alternative punk. The band moves effortlessly between dark, epic, bittersweet, punchy and energetic soundscapes, bringing vintage punk into the modern with timeless attitude and palpable panache. Hm... 70' years of punk mixed with dark wave and garage rock and the whole thing from Sweden sounds a bit weird at first. But once you get the album started it finds its way pretty quickly. The sound itself is somehow almost reminiscent of The Cure with strong influences from the really big punk bands. I immediately think of greats like Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, and I have to draw parallels if I want to. Rotten Mind's sound is damn catchy and easily adapts to today's times. It's really fun to hear the riffs. Images in my head take me back to wild times when youngsters with tie-dyed hair, torn jeans and combat boots jumped wildly around and celebrated this music in their very own way. It's quite a feat that Rotten Mind put on here and revive this almost forgotten sense of time. The album never gets boring with a total of twelve new tracks. So if you like good classic punk and want to get that feeling of the old days back in your own four walls, you've come to the right place. I wish all listeners a storm-free booth and have fun going wild. Long live punk. Punk is alive and it's called Rotten Mind!
